GRA hockey squads crushed their competition at the T-Tommy tournament held across Kumasi. The ladies already claimed victory at the Africa Cup for clubs championship earlier this year when they traveled to Egypt. Both male and female teams swept through every match during the Greater Accra league season. Their winning streak continued when they dominated opponents at the latest tournament. The ladies knocked out the Knust and Ghana Masters teams with ease.
The men's squad demolished Knust, Ghana Masters, and Bompata Hockey Club during their run. They faced off against the Kumasi stadium hockey club for the championship match. GRA men sealed the deal with a solid 2-0 victory over their rivals. Mr. Ebenezer Frimpong, Head of Sports, led the entire delegation to Kumasi. Both teams brought experienced coaching staff to guide them through the competition.
Isaac Moses, William Ansah, and Victor Sowah handled the men's technical duties. The women's team worked with Osei Boakye-Yiadom, Ida Marmon-Halm, Joseph Abadoo, Rosemary Lamptey, and Gifty Sackey. High school teams joined the tournament to learn from the pros. Young players watched their heroes compete up close and personal. This setup helps grow hockey talent across Ghana for future generations.
