Security Guard Kills Two Colleagues in Kampala Murder-Suicide.
A security guard shot two fellow guards dead before taking his own life at a Kampala business Thursday night, police reported.
The incident occurred at Shumuk Aluminium Ltd in Nakawa around 9:00 PM. Emmanuel Machugayi killed Ashraf Kakyebei and Stephen Owechi before turning the weapon on himself. All three worked for Ryayo Security Group Ltd.
Luke Owoyesigyire, deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, said officers from Jinja Road Police Station arrived at the scene to investigate the shootings.
"Preliminary findings indicate that Machugayi Emmanuel accessed a firearm from a colleague and, without provocation, fatally shot two fellow security guards," Owoyesigyire said.
Police teams recovered two rifles and multiple cartridges from the scene. The bodies were taken to Mulago KCCA Mortuary for examination.
Investigators have not yet determined what sparked the violence.
