Gunmen raided a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejiba during worship hours, and they grabbed the pastor along with his wife plus several other churchgoers. Information Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo said the attackers probably camped out in nearby bushes for days before striking, and he called out locals for not reporting suspicious people hanging around the area.
Fanwo pointed out that holding services in remote bush locations without guards makes zero sense, especially after similar kidnappings happened at another church recently. He warned people to skip unsafe worship spots and stop making unnecessary trips through dangerous zones, while officials work with security teams to get the victims back.
