Guru Randhawa mourns Ustad Puran Shah Koti, calling him a forever legend

Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa shared a tribute for the late musician Ustad Puran Shah Koti, who recently passed away after a long illness. Randhawa posted a nostalgic clip on Instagram showing the legend playing harmonium during a jam session. He wrote that Koti would be remembered forever for his huge impact on music and the artists he mentored, calling him a permanent legend.

Koti, who was seventy two years old, once lived humbly in Shahkot within Jalandhar, teaching music from a small hut. His students included major industry names like Hans Raj Hans, Jasbir Jassi, and Sabar Koti. His son, Master Saleem, also a noted Punjabi musician, announced a prayer meeting for his father in Jalandhar. Koti had previously shared a photo online highlighting his close relationship with pupil Hans Raj Hans.
