The Gwanda Rural District Council has initiated the development of a new five-year strategic plan to guide its local development from 2026 through 2030. According to the council's chief executive officer, Ranganai Sibanda, the plan is designed to align with national economic goals, including the Vision 2030 objective. The planning process involves a collaborative workshop with councillors, government departments, and community stakeholders.
The District Development Coordinator, Nomathemba Ndlovu, emphasized that the strategic plan is a crucial tool for providing direction and coordinating all development partners in the area. She stated that the document would establish clear priorities for service delivery, infrastructure development, and investment promotion. Once finalized, the plan will serve as a blueprint for coordinated action and a reference point for various entities operating within the district.
