Gweru judge flags new charges for Peter Dube

A High Court judge has indicated that convicted murderer Peter Dube could face more legal consequences following his recent trial. Dube was found guilty on two counts of murder for the fatal shootings of Shelton Chiduku and Gamuchirai Madungwe in Gweru. He also received convictions for the attempted murders of his second wife, Nyasha Nharingo, and her sister, Nyaradzo Nharingo.

Justice Munamato Mutevedzi observed that the prosecution had neglected to add another murder charge related to Nyaradzo Nharingo, who later died from her injuries. The judge also questioned why no action had been taken against Dube's senior wife, Nomatter Chiwawa, for assisting his escape after the killings.

The court completely rejected Dube's defense that a mental disorder caused his actions, finding his story to be false. Justice Mutevedzi concluded that Dube acted deliberately and with full awareness. The convict now awaits sentencing while authorities consider potential new charges.
