Haaland hunts Monaco ghosts as City sweats

Manchester City travels to face Monaco at Louis II Stadium on Wednesday at 10 p.m. Cairo time in the Champions League group stage. The clubs last met in the 2016-17 round of 16 when Monaco advanced on away goals after winning 3-1 at home following a 5-3 loss in England. Monaco has dropped just one of its last nine European home matches against English sides with six wins and two draws, but the French club has managed one victory in its last seven Champions League outings.

City arrives after losing its last four away matches in the competition, but the English side has suffered three defeats in its last 21 group stage games and failed to score in two of its last 30 European contests. Norwegian striker Erling Haaland will make his 50th Champions League appearance and can break the record for most goals in a player's first 50 matches in the tournament, surpassing Ruud van Nistelrooy's mark of 43.
