Haaland says no one will match Messi and Ronaldo records

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has dismissed any suggestion that he could match the extraordinary scoring achievements of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, stating that nobody will come close to their career totals. The 25-year-old Norwegian has netted 327 goals across his career, but that figure pales in comparison to the 892 scored by Messi and the 952 accumulated by Ronaldo, who continues pursuing 1,000 career strikes.

Despite his prolific form this season with 26 goals by early November, Haaland insists breaking records remains far from his priorities. He has reached 98 Premier League goals in just 107 appearances and appears likely to surpass the 56 strikes he managed during his first campaign at Manchester City. Former England captain Alan Shearer, who holds the Premier League record with 260 goals and reached 100 in 124 matches, believes Haaland has an excellent opportunity to eclipse that mark. However, the striker maintains his focus on helping his team succeed rather than chasing individual milestones.

Haaland emphasized that guiding Norway to their first World Cup since 1998 represents his primary career objective. The forward, who has scored 53 times in 51 Champions League appearances, warned defenders that he continues improving as a player.
