Hajiji warns GRS members on independent runs

Gabungan Rakyat Sabah leadership has issued a warning about expelling members who run as independent candidates during the state election, according to coalition chairman Hajiji Noor. The caretaker chief minister stated that while contests among friendly parties remain acceptable, any PGRS or GRS members choosing independent candidacy will face removal from their respective organizations.

Hajiji emphasized the party's firm stance following reports of potential conflicts between independent candidates and official nominees from component parties. The Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah president delivered his comments after completing the nomination process for several constituencies including Sulaman, where he previously secured victory with a margin exceeding 3,000 ballots.

The Sulaman seat features five contenders including representatives from Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional, Parti Impian Sabah and Warisan, competing against the incumbent. Sabah voters will cast their ballots following advance voting procedures for the 17th state election.
