Hanif Abbasi Outlines Plans to Modernize Pakistan Railways and Improve Services

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi announced major changes for Pakistan Railways during his visit to Lahore Railway Station. The government plans to make the railway system earn money and give travelers better services. Officials want to build modern train facilities that match international standards. Abbasi explained that new rules will make railway operations more honest and fair. Workers will face regular checks to ensure they perform their jobs well.

Pakistan Railways will upgrade all trains to make trips safer and more comfortable for passengers. Electric escalators will appear at train platforms across the country. The railway department will keep stations clean and serve quality food to travelers. These improvements aim to attract more people to use train services. Better facilities should help the railway company compete with other transport options.

The minister said Pakistan Railways will support the Reko Diq mining project. Trains will carry valuable minerals from mines to ports for export to other countries. This partnership will create new income for the railway system. Moving mineral wealth through trains will boost Pakistan's economy. The railway network will become important for transporting natural resources to global markets.

Government officials believe these changes will transform Pakistan Railways from a loss-making organization into a successful business. Modern equipment and better management will attract more passengers and cargo customers. The railway system will serve as a key part of Pakistan's transportation network for years ahead.
