Harare City Official Charged for Fake Degree

A top Harare City Council official got in trouble yesterday for not telling the truth. Takudzwa Dzumbunu, who leads the Works and Town Planning Committee, said the commission is looking into the council that she had a university degree. But it turns out she didn't graduate because she failed a class. At first, Dzumbunu said she would show her degree certificates but later admitted she didn't have them. She thought it would be easy to get the documents but realized it wasn't possible since she hadn't completed her degree. Dzumbunu apologized for misleading everyone and said she had no good reason. She was fined $300 or faces six months in jail for lying to the commission.
