Harare lawyer Nyasha Timba's ex freed after paying US$8k arrears

Alexius Manyanda gained freedom after spending a weekend behind bars for unpaid child support. The estranged spouse of attorney Nyasha Pamella Timba cleared his debt through legal representatives. His lawyer, Purity Chikangaise, facilitated the settlement with Timba's legal team. State prosecutor Anesu Chirenje withdrew opposition to bail after the payment resolution. The court ordered Manyanda to avoid contact with his former wife.

Manyanda faces trial on September 23 for murder threats and violence charges. Court records show he owed $8,020 in overdue payments for two children's education and medical expenses. The obligations covered Heritage School fees, occupational therapy, and speech therapy costs. A magistrate had previously ordered him to stop abusing Timba physically and verbally.

Police reports detail an incident where Manyanda allegedly pushed Timba's hand at Borrowdale station. He accused her of recording him with her phone during the confrontation. Witnesses claim he threatened her life and made intimidating statements about police bribes.
