Police officer Gloria Chikoko handed her Toyota Noah to a Harare businessman who never delivered the promised Mercedes-Benz. Nicholas Misodzi, 42, from Gunhill, Chinhoyi, faces fraud charges at the Harare courts alongside his company, Niro Asset Group. Two men acting as sales agents convinced Chikoko to trade her $4,100 vehicle for a luxury car that would arrive within two months.
The deal happened on May 4, 2016, when Chikoko met with Misodzi at his Harare office. After the waiting period passed, Misodzi claimed border issues held up her Mercedes at Beitbridge. He stopped answering her calls soon after, leading Chikoko to report the matter to authorities when she realized she had been tricked.
