Police arrested Ntobeko Chinhoi for tricking people who wanted to become pilots or cabin crew members. The 29-year-old man created a fake aviation school called Royal Chinhoyi Aviation inside a Joina City building in downtown Harare. He used TikTok to advertise training programs in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Poland, and India. Students paid him money for classes that never existed.
Harare magistrate Ruth Moyo granted Chinhoi bail of $100 after he appeared on fraud charges. Airport police officer Leonard Chibamhu reported him after discovering the scam. Chinhoi held a seminar at Robert Mugabe International Airport earlier this month, charging people $2 each to attend. When questioned about his credentials during the event, he failed to show any legal documents proving he could offer aviation training. Officials arrested him immediately at the airport restaurant where he was holding his presentation.
