Harley Benton ST-80FR offers high-performance specs at an affordable price

Harley Benton released two electric guitars that target rock and metal musicians seeking affordable performance instruments. The ST-80FR Series features models with one pickup and two pickups that draw inspiration from classic 1980s designs. Both versions use six-tuner headstocks rather than the pointed styles common during that era. Musicians will find roasted Canadian flame maple necks attached to basswood bodies. The guitars offer serious specifications despite their budget-friendly pricing.

Builders shaped the necks with asymmetric C profiles and added sculpted heel joints for easier high-fret playing. Fingerboards use flame maple construction with compound radius measurements from 12 to 16 inches. Stainless steel frets provide durability and the fingerboard edges receive rolled finishing. These features typically appear on expensive instruments rather than entry-level models. The design choices reflect careful attention to player comfort and performance needs.

Tesla Plasma-X1 Alnico V humbuckers deliver high output levels for aggressive rock tones. The company states that reducing volume settings allows cleaner sounds when needed. Single-pickup models include only volume controls for simple operation. Dual-pickup versions add tone controls and three-way switching for tonal variety. Locking tuners and glow-in-the-dark position markers complete the feature set.

Musicians can purchase single-pickup models for 344 pounds or 470 dollars. Dual-pickup versions cost 387 pounds or 529 dollars through Harley Benton dealers. Thomann offers direct ordering for customers worldwide. The guitars target players who appreciate classic hard rock and metal sounds from bands like RATT and Van Halen.
