Ghana's government will allocate one billion cedis from the Ghana Education Trust Fund to expand educational infrastructure and eliminate the double-track system. Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu announced this initiative during his visit to Zebilla Senior High Technical School in the Upper East Region. The funding forms part of President Mahama's Reset Agenda aimed at improving educational quality nationwide. Finance Minister received presidential instructions to incorporate these expenditures into the 2026 budget. Minister Iddrisu acknowledged widespread deterioration of school facilities that hampers effective learning.
During his regional tour, the Minister also inspected Bolgatanga Technical Institute and interacted with students preparing for their West African Senior School Certificate Examination. He promised to commission a new Home Economics block at Zebilla Senior High Technical School next year. The Minister emphasized education's role in combating poverty and ignorance across Northern Ghana. He urged students to embrace honesty, discipline and tolerance while maintaining peaceful coexistence. Regional officials and Ghana Education Service representatives accompanied the Minister during his working visit.
