Hema Malini has dismissed Delhi protests as pointless

Hema Malini basically told protesting students their whole movement is pointless and that the Cockroach Janta Party is just feeding them misinformation. The BJP MP and veteran actress spoke to reporters in Delhi, insisting the Modi government has always had the youth's back on education matters. Her take was that dialogue beats street demonstrations every single time.

And the backdrop here is pretty intense. Sonam Wangchuk had been sitting on an open-ended fast at Jantar Mantar for 21 days, demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan step down over exam irregularities. Delhi Police eventually dragged him off the site and moved him to a hospital, citing his declining health and a Delhi High Court directive.

The whole thing traces back to the NEET mess. Suspiciously high perfect scores and a flood of top rankers in the National Testing Agency's medical admissions test triggered allegations of leaked papers and rigged advantages. Students wanted a re-test and actual accountability, while the government kept defending the process as investigative agencies dug into the scale of the cheating.
