Herman Mashaba urges Operation Dudula to address immigration legally

ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba has told anti-immigration group Operation Dudula that while concerns about undocumented migrants are legitimate, the movement must pursue its goals through legal means rather than confrontation. During a November 10 meeting with the organization's leadership, Mashaba emphasized that democratic governance cannot tolerate citizens taking justice into their own hands, regardless of frustration with government failures on border security.

Operation Dudula leader Zandile Dabula announced intentions to target schools starting in 2026, despite a Johannesburg High Court order prohibiting harassment of foreign nationals and interference with service access. The group continues blocking undocumented individuals from healthcare facilities, claiming resources are overwhelmed. Mashaba warned against vigilantism while acknowledging his party supports deporting those residing illegally in South Africa, urging demonstrators to channel anger toward the ruling party instead of directly confronting migrants.
