Hideo Kojima laments the lack of originality as the game industry grows more uniform

Kojima noted that visual presentations and gameplay mechanics have become remarkably similar across major releases.

The developer believes independent studios currently produce the most innovative content while mainstream publishers release repetitive experiences. His disappointment extends to upcoming projects like Metal Gear Solid Delta, which maintains the original's unchanged gameplay systems. Kojima attributes his creative success to maintaining a singular vision throughout development processes, allowing simultaneous work across multiple game aspects, unlike traditional film production methods.

Kojima Productions continues development on Physint, marking the creator's return to stealth action gameplay, alongside the experimental project OD. Death Stranding 2 has launched exclusively for PlayStation 5 players. The veteran designer remains confident that his games' lasting impact will define their ultimate legacy regardless of initial public reception.
