Hilda Baci's jollof plan crumbles, cuts rice bags in Lagos

Celebrity chef Hilda Baci modified her world record attempt from 250 bags to 200 bags of rice due to equipment limitations. The standard crane and scale system cannot safely handle weights exceeding 20,000 kilograms during the measurement process. Safety concerns prompted this adjustment for the massive jollof rice cooking challenge at Eko Hotels in Lagos.

The modified recipe still creates 4,000 kilograms of rice capable of feeding 20,000 people comfortably. Baci emphasized that the reduced quantity maintains the historic significance of her achievement. The custom-built cooking vessel required two months of fabrication work alone.

Nearly one year of planning preceded this ambitious culinary project. The preparation phase lasted nine months, while the actual cooking process took nine hours to complete. The event transformed into a celebration featuring live entertainment and celebrity guests. Guinness World Records officials from London sent encouraging messages through social media platforms.
