Hindu leaders rip the Yunus regime over temple terror

Bangladesh Hindu leaders call for permanent security rather than temporary five-day safeguards during Durga Puja festivities. Temple vandalism strikes 13 districts as the community prepares for celebrations from September 28 through October 2. Attacks against religious minorities increased after Muhammad Yunus assumed interim leadership in August 2024.

Jayanta Kumar Deb from Mohanagar Sarbojanin Puja Committee demands 365-day protection for building a discrimination-free nation. Community representatives seek dismissal of false charges against minority leaders and innocent citizens. Recent incidents damaged idols at temples in Kushtia and Jamalpur districts.

The Awami League party criticized the current administration for creating unsafe conditions. Opposition leaders blame the Yunus government for increased violence against Hindus and other minority groups across the country.
