The Ho schools didn't throw a big party for Ghana's 68th Independence Day. Instead, they followed the President's orders to keep celebrations small. Teachers and students from different schools in Ho joined together for a fun "Independence Walk" to celebrate. They started at OLA Top and walked through town before ending up at the Ho Municipal Assembly building.
Dr. Esther Yeboah-Adzimah talked to everyone about the theme "Reflect, Review, Reset." She asked people to remember those who fought for freedom and think about where Ghana stands today. She praised Ghana for making progress in education, technology, and society. But she also pointed out problems facing young people these days. She mentioned mental health issues caused by school stress, social media pressure, and what society expects from them. She worried about more students using drugs, which would ruin their futures. She also talked about bad behavior disrupting school discipline.
