I watch so many tutorials, but my mixes in FL Studio still sound muddy. I'm using the mixer, routing tracks, and adding EQ, but something isn't working. How do you guys approach a mix from start to finish in FL Studio? What's your basic chain?

That "mud" is almost always a result of inadequate gain staging and muddled low-mids. Before you add any effects in the FL Studio mixer, level all your tracks so they're peaking around -10dB. Then, use an EQ on every track. High-pass filter (cut the lows) on everything except your kick and sub-bass. This single step cleans up 80% of the mud. Then you can start balancing levels.
