HP Slim OMEN 16 is ultra thin and packs a punch

HP recently released a new laptop called the OMEN 16 Slim. At its thinnest point, it measures just 19.9 mm - that's 16% slimmer than the standard OMEN 16. The screen is 16 inches with a 16:10 aspect ratio. You can pick from 1920 x 1200 resolution screens that refresh at 144 Hz or 165 Hz, or go for the sharper 2560 x 1600 screen with an even faster 250 Hz refresh rate.

Processor options start with the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H. Want more power? You can step up to the Core Ultra 7 255H or the top-tier Ultra 9. Memory comes in 16 GB, 24 GB, or 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. Storage options include either 512 GB or 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSDs. Right now, the NVIDIA RTX 5070 is the only graphics card HP lists, but they hint that more choices might appear later.

The laptop features something HP calls "Unleashed Mode" which pushes performance up to 105 W TPP. Their cooling technology keeps fan noise at just 46 decibels. For ports, you'll find one USB-C, three USB Type-A ports (one running at 10 Gbps, two at 5 Gbps), an Ethernet jack, a headphone socket, and HDMI 2.1. Wireless connectivity comes from either Intel Wi-Fi 6E or Realtek Wi-Fi 6 cards, but Wi-Fi 7 isn't supported.

HP hasn't announced how much the OMEN 16 Slim will cost yet. They expect to release it during spring.
