Huawei Kirin X90 10 Core Monster Chip Set To Shock PCs

Huawei plans to release a new computer chip called the Kirin X90. This chip will power laptops that run HarmonyOS PC. The Kirin X90 has ten cores with a "4 + 4 + 2" setup and can handle 20 threads through hyperthreading. It might pair with the stronger Maleoon 920 graphics processor.

The chip uses the codename Charlotte Pro, which relates to the earlier Kirin 9010 known as Charlotte. Huawei designed this silicon to meet Chinese security standards like SM3 and SM4. The first laptop with HarmonyOS PC and possibly the Kirin X90 should arrive later this year.

Huawei wants to cut its need for Windows with this move. The company has used HarmonyOS on other devices before trying it on computers.
