Huawei Mate 80 series is rumored with a 20 percent chipset speed gain

Huawei plans to launch the Mate 80 phone series during the final months of 2025. The company will pair these devices with a brand new Kirin 9030 processor chip. Tech insiders claim this new chip will run 20 percent faster than older models. However, nobody knows which previous chip they compared it against. The comparison could be against the Kirin 9020 or the Kirin 9010 processor.

Huawei faces major problems making advanced chips at its factories. The company works with SMIC to build processors but they struggle with modern 5nm technology. Their newest laptop chips still use outdated 7nm manufacturing methods. These production issues prevent Huawei from competing with other major phone makers. The company cannot match the speed and efficiency of rivals like Apple and Samsung.

Rumors suggest Huawei might have figured out 5nm chip making without expensive equipment. These claims remain unproven and conflicting reports make experts doubt the truth. Poor manufacturing results make it too expensive to mass produce these advanced chips. The Kirin 9030 will likely stick with 7nm technology instead of moving to 5nm. Despite these technical limitations, phone buyers still love Huawei devices and the Mate 80 series should sell millions of units worldwide.
