IBA puts rule of law on red alert, tells lawyers to lead or lose it

While AI regulation and talent retention remain significant issues, the agenda frames them within this broader context of preserving institutional trust. It notes that firm reputations risk damage if perceived as overly profit-driven, emphasizing a shared duty to articulate the profession's role as guardians of justice. The IBA also highlighted growing global divergence in ESG and diversity policies, complicating compliance even as its own council reaffirms commitment to inclusion initiatives.
