IK Multimedia adds Grand Piano Y7 to Pianoverse set

IK Multimedia has added a fresh piano model to their Pianoverse collection called Grand Piano Y7. This virtual instrument recreates the famous Yamaha C7, built during the late 1980s at the Yamaha factory located in Hamamatsu, Japan. Musicians love this piano for its strong sound projection and crystal-clear tones. The Y7 works perfectly for both live performances and studio recordings thanks to its adaptable sound character.

Recording sessions for the Y7 happened at Fonoprint Studios in Bologna, Italy, a facility with an impressive history of working alongside artists like Bocelli and Morricone. The team captured every detail using DPA cardioid microphones placed near the strings plus Coles ribbon microphones arranged in the Blumlein configuration. Players can choose between three different acoustic environments labeled Northern Lights, Mirrors, and White Loft for added variety.

The Pianoverse collection has expanded to include nine high-quality pianos with this latest addition. Musicians can select from various models, including the Bösendorfer 214, Steinway Hamburg D-274, and Yamaha CFII. Anyone who already purchased Pianoverse MAX receives the Y7 free as part of their package. New customers have options to buy just the Y7 or the complete bundle containing all nine instruments.

Customers can purchase the Y7 right away for €99.99 directly from IK Multimedia. The company has also created a special March promotion for the complete Pianoverse MAX bundle, temporarily priced at €99.99 instead of its regular €299.99 cost. This limited-time offer gives musicians access to the entire collection of nine professional piano instruments at a significantly reduced price point.
