Ilaiyaraaja's name removed from Mrs. and Mr. promotional materials following court case over unauthorized use

Renowned music composer Ilaiyaraaja successfully petitioned the Madras High Court to remove his name from promotional materials for the film Mrs. and Mr. The court heard his civil suit alleging unauthorized use of his name and musical work. Vanitha Film Productions confirmed removing references to Ilaiyaraaja from Instagram and other platforms. The production team had used his 1990 song Sivarathri from Michael Madana Kama Rajan without permission, incorrectly crediting him as the film's composer. Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy granted Ilaiyaraaja until August 18 to file additional legal applications, with the producer's counsel suggesting Sony Music Entertainment should be included as a defendant in the ongoing dispute.
