India calls for global unity against terrorism at UN meetings

India reinforced its zero tolerance stance against terrorism during the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism in New York. Secretary Sibi George delivered the national statement, calling for global unity against terrorist threats. The United Nations group, formed in June 2019, advocates for terrorism victims' rights and diverse needs.

George participated in additional UN meetings, emphasizing India's peacebuilding philosophy of universal family. He represented India at the UNRWA ministerial gathering during the 80th General Assembly session. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar addressed G20 Foreign Ministers about Operation Sindoor, stating that anti-terrorism efforts serve international communities. India launched the operation on May 7 following the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people.
