India crushes Pakistan by 88 runs at Women's ODI World Cup

India secured an 88-run victory against Pakistan on Sunday in the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup at Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium, earning widespread recognition from political figures and former cricket players. The team dismissed Pakistan for 159 runs after setting a target of 247, marking their 12th consecutive ODI win against their rivals and advancing to first place in the tournament standings.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the achievement as a perfect strike on social media, while BCCI President Mithun Manhas highlighted the 12-0 record. Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan and ex-spinner Harbhajan Singh commended the clinical team's performance.

Kranti Gaud and Deepti Sharma each claimed three wickets, while Richa Ghosh contributed an unbeaten 35 runs. India faces South Africa on October 9 before meeting defending champion Australia on October 12 at Visakhapatnam.
