India juniors choke late as Aussies edge hockey thriller

Australia's under-21 hockey team defeated India's junior women 3-2 at Canberra's National Hockey Centre on Friday. Bianca Zurrer opened scoring through a penalty corner in the 36th minute before Evie Sransby doubled the lead nine minutes later. Lalthantluangi pulled one back with a penalty corner conversion at the 47-minute mark while Sonam leveled the contest seven minutes afterward. Sammy Love clinched victory for the hosts with a penalty corner goal one minute from time.

Captain Jyoti Singh leads the squad under coach Tushar Khandker's guidance during this Australian tour. Four additional fixtures await the team against Australia's junior side and Canberra Chill from the Hockey One League. These matches serve as preparation for December's FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile. The team previously toured Europe where they secured victories against Belgium and Australia.
