India is preparing to send skilled workers to Russia as part of efforts to strengthen economic ties, according to a senior official from Telangana.
Dana Kishore, principal secretary of Telangana, revealed the plan during the TIME Forum in Kazan, Russia. He said the state would train workers for the Russian job market, marking the first significant wave of Indian workers heading to Russia. Kishore highlighted Russia's shortage of skilled workers and noted that India already sends labor to 33 other nations.
Kishore emphasized that Telangana is focusing on specialized fields like aerospace and manufacturing to make workers globally competitive. Ivan Nosov of Sberbank India added that the number of Indian workers in Russia has grown tenfold, underscoring India's increasing role in the global workforce.
