India sent 23 boxers to compete at the Asian Youth Games in Manama, Bahrain, where competition runs from Oct. 23 through Oct. 30. The Boxing Federation of India selected athletes across 14 weight divisions for boys and girls under 17 years old. Athletes trained at NS NIS Patiala from Sept. 23 to Oct. 20 under head coaches Vinod Kumar and Jitender Raj Singh before departing for Bahrain.
The federation chose gold medalists from the sixth U-17 Junior Boys and Girls National Boxing Championships 2025 for the team, while silver medalists serve as reserves. India finished second at the Asian U-17 Championships in July 2025 with 43 medals. Boxing Federation of India President Ajay Singh said the young athletes demonstrated they can compete with Asia's best, and the games will help develop future champions. Medal ceremonies take place on Oct. 30 at Exhibition World Bahrain Hall 9.
