INS Sahyadri docks in Malaysia for third time

INS Sahyadri arrived at Kemaman Port on Wednesday for its third visit to Malaysia and received a ceremonial welcome from the Royal Malaysian Navy. The vessel previously docked at Port Klang in 2016 and participated in Exercise Samudra Laksamana at Kota Kinabalu in 2019. Officers from the Indian warship met First Admiral Abd Halim bin Kamarudin, and the deputy commander of Naval Region 1, for discussions on bilateral maritime cooperation.

The commanding officer and crew engaged in cross-visit exchanges and subject matter expert discussions with Malaysian naval personnel. India's survey vessel INS Sandhayak completed its first port call at Port Klang in July to strengthen hydrographic partnerships. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth attended the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition in May and met Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the opening ceremony.
