iPhone 18 Pro set to get LTPO Plus screen and under-display Face ID

The notch is finally dying because Apple found a way to hide its sensors. Leaks claim the iPhone 18 Pro series experiments with under-screen Face ID using upgraded LTPO panels. This fresh tech permits burying infrared hardware directly behind the display. One specific prototype apparently shoved the front-facing camera into the upper-left corner to accommodate the change.

Only Samsung and LG hold the capability to mass-produce these complex screens. Chinese manufacturer BOE allegedly missed the cut for these premium models. While earlier gossip pointed toward cheaper High Mobility Oxide materials, the tech giant evidently selected the superior option to enable that invisible unlocking wizardry without sacrificing performance.

These standard handsets reportedly arrive with the long-awaited iPhone Fold. Samsung secured the exclusive contract to supply bending glass for that device while also manufacturing OLED parts for a redesigned M6 MacBook Pro. This transition inches everything closer to a truly seamless slab where the selfie lens eventually disappears underneath, too.
