Island Records taps Ellis as new A&R VP

Caroline Ellis got a promotion at Universal's Island Records, moving up to Vice President of A&R. She will keep working with artists like Chappell Roan and Suki Waterhouse, whom she originally signed to the label. Ellis reports to Jackie Winkler, the head of A&R, who was also promoted last year.

Ellis first joined Island in 2020, having previously worked at Interscope Records with acts like The 1975. In a statement, Winkler praised Ellis for her taste and her strong relationships with musicians. Ellis herself called the role a reward, noting the weight of the label's legacy.
