Ja’Marr Chase suspended for spitting at Jalen Ramsey

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase has been suspended for one contest and will forfeit approximately $448,000 in salary plus a $58,000 roster bonus after league officials determined he spat at Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey during a heated exchange. The incident occurred following earlier confrontations between the two players that resulted in offsetting penalties, with Ramsey later ejected for striking Chase's helmet and drawing a second personal foul.

Chase has denied the allegations and intends to appeal the ruling before his team faces New England. Head coach Zac Taylor acknowledged the severity of the situation while expressing confidence in his players' typical conduct. The suspension arrives at a challenging moment for Cincinnati's postseason aspirations, as Chase leads the squad in receiving statistics across multiple categories. This represents the second spitting violation sanctioned by the league this season.
