Jaishankar, Nepal delegation discuss closer ties and border work in New Delhi

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar hosted young Nepalese political leaders Wednesday during their New Delhi visit. The minister emphasized strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding citizen connections between both countries. Nepal's diplomatic mission facilitated meetings with the visiting parliamentary delegation throughout their stay. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri previously engaged with multiparty Nepalese lawmakers on July 30 to explore partnership opportunities. Regular political exchanges enhance diplomatic relationships according to embassy officials.

The seventh India-Nepal Boundary Working Group convened July 28-29 in the capital city. Both nations approved revised procedures for maintaining and inspecting border markers along their shared frontier. Officials committed to accelerating boundary maintenance efforts using advanced technological solutions. The working group established a three-year operational framework for future collaboration. Survey committee representatives will convene soon in Nepal to continue joint border management initiatives that began after the 2019 meeting.
