Jaishankar speed dates world leaders, UN reform gets spicy

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar conducted extensive diplomatic engagement during the United Nations high-level session this week. The minister organized the second L.69 and C10 Joint Ministerial gathering to advance Security Council reform efforts. He emphasized Global South unity while addressing comprehensive changes to the UN body. These committees represent 42 developing nations and ten African Union members respectively.

Jaishankar chaired the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation meeting and reported positive progress on Prime Minister Modi's 12-point development framework. The minister held bilateral discussions with foreign representatives from Cyprus, Mexico, Nicaragua, Brazil, and multiple Pacific island states. He reaffirmed Indian support for Cyprus regarding territorial disputes and international law compliance. The diplomatic activities strengthened partnerships across diverse regional blocs.
