Jaismine Lamboria hails gold blitz as India floors Liverpool

India achieved unprecedented success at the 2025 World Boxing Championships in Liverpool through exceptional performances by female athletes. Jaismine Lamboria secured gold in the 57kg division after defeating Poland's Julia Szeremeta by a 4-1 margin. Minakshi Hooda captured gold in the 48kg category by overcoming Kazakhstan's three-time world champion Nazym Kyzaibay with an identical 4-1 victory. Nupur earned silver in the 80+kg class while Pooja Rani claimed bronze in the 80kg division. Government officials honored the boxers during a ceremony in Noida.

The Boxing Federation of India president Ajay Singh characterized these results as evidence of the sport's upward trajectory in the country. Athletes expressed appreciation for governmental support and recognition of their achievements. India will host its first World Boxing Cup from November 13 to 24 at the Vijay Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida. The competition will feature approximately 450 participants from more than 80 nations. Officials expect this event to represent one of the largest international boxing gatherings held on Indian territory.
