Jam Bass Blends Retro Vibe with Futuristic Sound

Native Instruments recently launched a cool new bass instrument as part of their Session Bassist series. They partnered with Drumasonic to create Jam Bass for music producers everywhere. This digital instrument captures the sound of those classic dual-pickup electric basses everyone loves. Thanks to more than 280 built-in patterns, users can easily write bass parts for any music style and shape their sound with awesome effects from Guitar Rig.

The foundation of Jam Bass comes from an incredible USA-made offset-body bass that players know for its amazing sound flexibility. It features two passive single-coil pickups that blend the warmth from the neck position with a crisp punch from the bridge. This combination gives musicians both deep lows and defined midrange tones. Thanks to detailed sampling and clever programming tricks, playing this virtual bass feels incredibly realistic.

Musicians can create tons of different tones by mixing those neck and bridge pickups just right. They can play using fingers, picks, or slap techniques or choose from patterns covering everything from funky grooves to driving rock and mellow jazz. Professional bassists recorded over 280 patterns across different song templates for users to enjoy. The easy MIDI drag-and-drop function allows complete customization inside any music production software.

Players start with either clean direct input or the warm sound of a ribbon microphone. From there, they explore a massive selection of amplifiers, speaker cabinets, and effects powered by Guitar Rig 7 Pro technology. Users can flip through more than 50 ready-made sound presets or build something completely new. Jam Bass sells for $99 in America, €99 in Europe, or £89 in Britain.
