An alliance of eight political parties led by Jamaat-e-Islami announced plans to mobilize supporters ahead of a tribunal ruling against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and three co-defendants facing crimes against humanity charges. Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar stated the coalition would reject any attempt by the Awami League to restrict movement in connection with the verdict, vowing to prevent what he characterized as sabotage supporting authoritarian governance.
The alliance held a meeting at Al-Falah Hall in Moghbazar, where leaders discussed current political conditions and their movement strategy. Participants included representatives from Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis, Bangladesh Nezame Islam Party, JAGPA, Bangladesh Development Party, and Bangladesh Khilafat Andolan.
Parwar indicated the coalition would support proposed reforms in an upcoming referendum while maintaining pressure for additional demands including free elections. The group reaffirmed its commitment to its five-point platform and pledged continued activism until achieving all objectives.
