Dr. Henry Wamani handed over the 100-acre property located in Buhimba Town Council within Kikuube District. Top ministry officials and taskforce committee members watched the historic transfer unfold yesterday. The donation completes a land ownership switch that will establish a public university in the Bunyoro region. President Museveni had broken ground for the institution back in March.
Government planners are mapping out the university site while designers race to finish blueprints by mid-July. Construction crews will break ground in September according to taskforce chairman Professor Samuel Kyamanywa. The academic institution should welcome students approximately one year after builders start work. Professor Grace Bantebya Kyomuhendo promised the facility will create opportunities for all Ugandans while giving Bunyoro residents special advantages.
