Jesse Jackson monitored for PSP

Civil rights leader Reverend Jesse Jackson has been hospitalized for monitoring related to a progressive neurological condition. The 84-year-old is being observed for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a disorder he has managed for over ten years.

Jackson's organization, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, released the statement confirming his hospital admission. The rare condition impacts motor functions and is often mistaken for Parkinson's disease, with which Jackson was previously diagnosed.

A prominent figure in the civil rights movement, Jackson worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and later founded the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. He also mounted two historic campaigns for the American presidency. He resigned from his leadership position at the coalition last year.
