Jimi Lawal, Ganiyu Dada are seen as Ogun wildcards

With the next gubernatorial election approaching in Ogun State, two figures are emerging as potential wildcards who could disrupt the established political order. Within the Peoples Democratic Party, Jimi Adebisi Lawal is seen as a significant challenger to the prominent aspirant Ladi Adebutu. Meanwhile, Chief Ganiyu Adeleke Dada, a respected member of the Olota-In-Council, is also tipped as a formidable contender.

Jimi Lawal, a former special adviser and banking executive, has become a rallying point for opposition against Adebutu and is believed to have strong connections with Governor Seyi Makinde and Minister Nyesom Wike. Chief Dada, hailing from an influential Awori family, holds advanced degrees in Economics, Politics, and Business Administration. He has previously played important roles in the electoral victories of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun and several Ogun West senators.

Both individuals, aged 65 and 63 respectively, are considered influential forces whose political ambitions could redefine the contest for the major parties' nominations.
