Joao Pedro blasts Chelsea past Fluminense to Club World Cup final

Joao Pedro made Chelsea fans fall head over heels during his dream debut against Fluminense. The Brazilian striker fired home a stunning curler after Thiago Silva cleared Pedro Neto's cross straight to his feet. Fluminense keeper Fabio could only watch the ball sail over his head into the top corner. Malo Gusto almost doubled the lead moments later but the veteran goalkeeper pulled off a fine save. Marc Cucurella rescued his team with a brilliant goal-line clearance to stop Hercules from leveling the score.

Fluminense thought they had earned a penalty when a free kick struck Trevoh Chalobah's arm inside the box. Referee Francois Letexier initially pointed to the spot much to the delight of the Brazilian supporters. VAR stepped in and convinced the official to reverse his decision after ruling the defender's arm was in a natural position. The incident left Fluminense players frustrated but they continued pressing for an equalizer. Their hopes were crushed when Pedro struck again to seal Chelsea's victory.

Enzo Fernandez played a perfect through ball that caught Fluminense's defense napping during a counter attack. Pedro raced onto the pass and fired his shot off the crossbar before it bounced into the net. The goal sparked wild celebrations among Chelsea supporters who had witnessed two brilliant finishes from their new signing. Enzo Maresca's squad will face either Paris Saint Germain or Real Madrid in the final. Those teams clash on Wednesday evening to determine Chelsea's opponent for the showpiece match.
