Johor Bahru Singapore RTS Link marks key milestone with ICQC structural completion

IJM Construction achieved structural completion of the Immigration, Customs and Quarantine Complex at Bukit Chagar through a topping-out ceremony. Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation CEO Datuk Mohd Zarif Hashim announced the milestone represents advancement into final design installations and facade work beginning September 2025. The facility will house co-located clearance operations for Malaysian and Singaporean authorities, establishing Southeast Asia's first such arrangement. Track installation finished for the Marine Viaduct, Bukit Chagar Station, and Wadi Hana Depot components. Interior work at Wadi Hana Depot approaches December completion.

Power activation occurred at Wadi Hana Depot during June 2025, arriving two months ahead of schedule through Tenaga Nasional Berhad coordination. Dynamic testing of the train system begins May 2026 across the complete alignment from depot to stations. The four-kilometer commuter network connects Bukit Chagar with Woodlands North Singapore, targeting December 2026 completion and early 2027 operations. The system accommodates 10,000 passengers hourly per direction with anticipated ridership reaching 40,000 passengers.
