Jordan admits he hasn’t shot a basketball in years

Michael Jordan surprised viewers during his debut as an NBC commentator by revealing he hasn’t played basketball in years. Speaking with Mike Tirico, the six-time NBA champion admitted he hasn’t picked up a ball since his retirement in 2003.

He recalled his last shot happened not in a gym but at the Ryder Cup, when the owner of a house he was renting asked him to shoot a free throw for the man’s grandchildren. Jordan said he felt more nervous than he had in years because the kids expected the same skill they’d heard about from stories of his career three decades ago.

When Tirico joked about whether he made the shot, Jordan smiled and said, “Absolutely.” Despite the long break from the game, his legendary confidence remains intact.
