Jordi Alba retires after 15 years, a Barcelona and Spain icon

Spanish left-back Jordi Alba announced his retirement from football at the end of the season, just days after Sergio Busquets revealed his own departure. Alba, 36, shared his decision in a video posted on Instagram, expressing satisfaction with his career and readiness to start a new chapter.

Alba began his career with Valencia before joining Barcelona in 2012, where he became a key part of one of the club’s most successful eras. He won six La Liga titles, a UEFA Champions League, a FIFA Club World Cup, and a European Championship with Spain. Alba was known for his strong partnership with Lionel Messi, which continued at Inter Miami.

With Alba and Busquets both departing, Inter Miami prepares to bid farewell to two players who have made a lasting impact on the game.
